GEN HASHIMOTO (JMTW Artistic Council/Dancer), born in Chiba, Japan, started dance and acting training at Japan University of Arts. Moving to NYC in 1999, he danced with Igal Perry, Javier Dzul, Mary Seidman & Dancers, Faine Dance Troupe and Nathan Trice. First studying with JMTW during a Peridance Intensive, he joined the company in 2003. He has toured internationally with JMTW to Bangkok, Bolivia, Brazil and Beijing and performed in JMTW's NYC Seasons at The Joyce, Cedar Lake and NYLA. As principal dancer, has originated leading roles in countless pieces. He has assisted Muller in residency/commissions for the Ailey BFA Program, Rutgers University and Long Island University/Brooklyn, Jacksonville University, FL, and, most recently, Interview: The Warhol Project for Introdans (The Netherlands). With Ms. Fujita, he directed JMTW in China and NYC in 2017.
