A native from Paraná, Brazil, Talissa is a New York based artist, performer, and choreographer. With a four-year merit scholarship, Talissa was the first Brazilian to graduate from the Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz and Contemporary Trainee Program. She trained under the direction of Michael Blake, Mia Michaels, and Angelica Stiskin. Talissa has performed with dance companies such as Keigwin + Company, The Joffrey Ensemble, iKADA Contemporary Dance Company, Humans Collective, Jazz Ain’t Dead, and KR3TS Dance Company, as well as performed in independent works with Tyler Gilstrap, Gabrielle Lamb, Patrick O’Brien, Manueal Vignoulle, Margo Sappington, Kevin Wynn, Bradley Shelver, Tiffany Rae-Fisher, Peter Pucci and many more. She made her debut as a choreographer at the 17th Annual DUMBO Dance Festival, and has since presented her work at HATCH Presenting Series, NACHMO, New York Jazz Choreography Project, 8 in Show at Dixon Place, The Martha Graham Studio Theater, Symphony Space, the 14th Street Y Theater, and The Riverside Church Theater. Moreover, Talissa has worked administratively for The Joffrey School, and joined Jennifer Muller/The Works as an intern in 2017 and administrator in 2018.
